Course Outline

Each General English class consists of two components: grammar usage and reading comprehension

There are five levels in total:
  • Elementary: Level I and II
  • Secondary: Level III, IV and V

In each level, students learn different grammar skills and apply the skills in various short writing pieces. They will also be exposed to different genres of reading pieces. Through the reading process, they will acquire the corresponding comprehensive skills that are essential for achieving at school.

Ideally, students are expected to acquire all elementary grammar knowledge in two years and all secondary grammar knowledge in three years. However, the duration of the courses may vary depending on the students’ learning progress.

Upon their completion of the General English courses, students are eligible to enroll into our Academic Writing courses and further develop their writing skills.
